Inoltre, nello stesso anno, il 9 novembre è nuovamente primatista mondiale sui 50 Km. senza allenatori (in 1.08' 02''). Infine, nel 1940 vince il Gran Premio d'Europa a Zurigo (un ringraziamento al nipote Fabio Massucci).
